Fotograferen doe ik het liefst alleen, samen met het weer, de wind en het licht dat zich op dat moment aandient. Vaak dichtbij, in het noorden van Nederland, waar het vlakke land en de luchten nooit hetzelfde zijn. Maar net zo goed onderweg, op plekken die blijven trekken — van het ruige Schotland tot het glooiende Zuid-Limburg.

I prefer to photograph alone, together with the weather, the wind, and whatever light presents itself in that moment. Mostly close to home, in the north of the Netherlands, where the flat land and skies are never quite the same. But just as often further afield, in places that keep pulling me back — from rugged Scotland to the rolling hills of South Limburg.

Lately I've been deepening my post-processing: a style somewhere between photography and painting, inspired by the old masters. Too sharp for a painting, too painterly for a photograph — that's what I'm working toward.
