Lange tijd was mijn werk ingedeeld naar plek: Nederland, Waddenzee, Zuid Limburg, Schotland. Maar waar een foto genomen is, zegt weinig over waarom ik 'm gemaakt heb. Wat telt, is wat het landschap op dat moment liet zien — en wat dat met me deed.
Daarom is deze selectie nu ingedeeld naar wat een foto typeert, niet naar waar die is genomen. Wijds. Lijnen. Reflectie. Ruig. Verstild. Contrast. Zes kenmerken die steeds terugkeren in mijn werk, of ik nu op het Wad sta of in de Schotse Highlands.
Dit is bovendien een bewuste selectie, geen archief. Wat hier staat, is het werk waar ik nu achter sta.

For a long time, my work here was organised by place: the Netherlands, Wadden Sea, Limburg, Scotland. But where a photo was taken says little about why I made it. What matters is what the landscape showed me in that moment — and what it did to me.
That's why this selection is now arranged by what characterises a photo, not by where it was taken. Wide (or vast). Lines. Reflection. Rugged. Stilled. Contrast. Six qualities that keep returning in my work, whether I'm standing at the Wadden Sea coastline or in the Scottish Highlands.
This is also a deliberate selection, not an archive. What's here is the work I stand behind, now.
